Hacienda brings back the beers

Last weekend, Hacienda Beer Co., 8099 Hwy 57 in Baileys Harbor released See Ya Later: another collaborative beer from their oak cellar. Hacienda brewers created this one with brewers from Barrel + Beam, based in Marquette, Michigan.

The Barrel + Beam crew joined the Hacienda team at Baileys Harbor in the fall of 2019 to brew a koelschip beer with lots of fodder ingredients. Barrel + Beam picked juniper branches in Michigan and Hacienda harvested sumac cones in Door County.

The beer then spent a year and a half in oak barrels before being bottled for the last six months. The result? See Ya Later has notes of juniper, cider, charred lemon and melon, with balanced profiles of funk and acidity.

The Way You Make Me Feel, one of Hacienda’s cocktail-inspired IPAs, also returned last weekend. Hacienda incorporated ingredients based on the Floradora cocktail: juniper berries, ginger root, lime juice and red raspberry, as well as lactose sugar to give a creamy and full body. Brewers popped the beer in the kettle and dry with a bouquet of Motueka and Simcoe to further amplify the lime, berry and resin character.

Want even more? Hacienda has also released its Black Friday range. It includes four variations on its Velvet Bulldozer and Winter 2021/2022.
