Braehead: Haggis pancake served at Stack and Still

RABBIE Burns would be lyrical about the latest tasty treat to celebrate her birthday.

Scottish National Bard fans can enjoy a haggis pancake for Burns Night when they visit the Stack and Still Pancake restaurant at the Braehead Center tomorrow.

Burns Supper’s usual haggis, neeps and tatties have been brought into the 21st century with a delicious Haggis Hash Toastie pancake that was created for the menu at Stack and Still restaurant for one day only.

And there’s a nod to the traditional Burns Supper with a whiskey sauce on top of the two-tier pancake.

The Burns Night Hash Toastie pancake is buttermilk pancakes with a cheese crust, haggis, onion and potato hash with a crispy fried egg on top and a whiskey sauce.

Paul Reynolds, Managing Director of Stack and Still, said: “We are a Scottish company and we love following everyone’s favorite Scottish traditions.

“It doesn’t get much more Scottish than a Burns Supper and we decided to bring the meal of haggis, neeps and tatties into the 21st century and put a modern twist on traditional cuisine.”

Braehead center manager Peter Beagley said: ‘I’m sure Rabbie Burns would write a suitable poem extolling the virtues of Haggis Hash Toastie.

“I have no doubt that Stack and Still’s special Burns Night Haggis pancake will be very popular with visitors to Braehead.”
