Brownstone Pancake Factory opens Jersey Shore excavation

A popular brunch spot in North Jersey, Brownstone Pancake Factory is opening an outpost on the Jersey Shore.

The historic local family-owned business will be located at 979 Cedar Bridge Ave., in the Township of The Brick, and will feature its famous pancakes, extravagant milkshakes and other dinner classics.

The Jersey Shore was eagerly awaited and follows on from the success of the Brownstone Pancake Factory sites at Edgewater and Englewood Cliffs.

Owner Bobby Bournias and his wife, interior designer Vanessa Deleon, have built Brownstone’s most Instagrammable location to date, featuring an in-store donut shop, ice cream, van cabins Custom VWs, a selfie station and a walk-in window for treats to go.

Deleon, known for her television appearances on HGTV and Food Network’s Restaurant Impossible, took inspiration from the original Brownstone Pancake Factory, but with a Jersey Shore twist.

“We decided to bring some nostalgia to the south,” Deleon said. “When we think of the Jersey Shore, we think of the boardwalk, full of fun, great dining, and entertainment for all ages. In order to incorporate this into our prototype, we kept an open mind and made sure to capture a sense of what the Jersey Shore means to so many people.

The Bournias family’s 50-year-old secret buttermilk pancake recipe is used in all ‘Amazing Pancake Creations’ restaurants, such as Show Stopper, peanut butter and chocolate chip pancakes topped with bananas, whipped cream, caramel and chocolate sauce.

Each week, restaurants unveil extravagant pancake and waffle specials designed by Bobby himself, as well as “Ultimate Insane Milkshakes” topped with everything from donuts to freshly baked apple cider.

The “Ultimate Black and White” is a black and white shake topped with a full stack of silver dollar pancakes, bursting with chocolate chips, white and milk chocolate, and a mini Magnum bar. The treats are advertised on Brownstone’s viral Instagram page.
