Cozette Pizza and Workhorse beers join Spread on Walnut Street

PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) – You’ll find Spread Bagelry at 2401 Walnut St. during the day, but starting this weekend, it will turn into Cozette Pizza at night.

Bagels will still be available in the morning, but the evenings from Wednesday to Sunday from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. will be dedicated to Cozette. Workhorse Brewery Company is also joining us and will be serving beers in the evening.

“The whole program started with giving pizzas to Penn Hospital during COVID,” said Cozette COO Brooks Tanner. “It was a great success. So we will try to sell them in the evening to the community.

“We wanted to do something that really used our wood ovens. These are truly magical, and they’re kind of the centerpiece of Spread Bagelry.

And because of this prime location, Tanner reached out to Lindsey Bingaman, president of the Friends of Schuylkill River Park, and asked them to help fundraise when they reopened their basketball court for new backboards and rims. .

“It’s tucked right next to the trail and we have a patio that overlooks the trail,” Tanner said, so it was a good choice.

Tanner’s son uses this lot often, and he gets a lot of restaurant visits from people who use the trail, which is why Bingaman said the collaboration is so important.

“It almost reminds me of this place connecting downtown and West Philadelphia,” she said.
