Dunkin Donuts Sausage Pancake Bites: Like a delicious fast food breakfast bird poop | Food Bella | Phoenix | Phoenix New Times

The new battleground for the fast food giants is breakfast. McDonald’s, Burger King and Starbucks have mounted the griddle on joints like Dunkin Donuts, forcing them to fight back.

Said Dunkin Donuts to the breakfast bullies, “Suck on our Sausage Pancake Bites!”

Last week, for a limited time only, Dunkin Donuts launched its Sausage Pancake Bites as a test item in the market. Billed as “a breakfast snack that makes it easy for anyone to enjoy the delicious pairing of pancakes and sausage anytime of the day,” Sausage Pancake Bites are sausage bites wrapped in a Maple pancakes, sold in sets of three for $ 1.59 or six for $ 3 and are about the size of small eggs.

Let’s put one on for a breakfast test drive, okay?

One of the best things about sausage pancake bites: no utensils. That’s pancakes and sausage man cave style, baby! And they are nuts. The crepe is soft and chewy, and the maple aroma does not dominate. Signature? The sausage. No the rubbery waste peddled in most joints, this sausage has spices and herbs and doesn’t soak the pancake in grease.

While Fry Girl thinks a maple syrup would make Dunkin Donuts sausage pancake bites even more delicious, the real bummer is that three isn’t enough. Thinking of opting for a six-pack? Think again. Three Bites contains 300 calories, 20 grams of fat and 550 mg of sodium.

Always a trap.
