Now you can take the convenient option and buy the powdered batter mix which only requires milk and maybe an egg, but where’s the fun in that?

Moreover, if you are a fan of the big fluffy American-style pancakes then this is the recipe for you, and it couldn’t be simpler.

We asked for help from the queen of kitchens herself Nigelle Lawson whose recipe for fluffy American pancakes is sure to cause a storm in your home, and they’ll be ready in just four easy steps.

Here’s what you need to serve 4-6 people:

  • 2½ teaspoons of baking powder
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 teaspoon of white sugar
  • 2 large eggs (beaten)
  • 30 grams of butter (melted and cooled)
  • 300 milliliters of milk
  • 225 grams of plain flour
  • butter for frying

Method:

  1. The easiest way to prepare them is to put all the ingredients in a blender and blitz. But if you mix the dough by hand in a bowl, make a well in the flour, baking powder, salt and sugar, beat the eggs, melted butter and milk, and transfer to a pitcher: that’s a lot. easier to pour the batter into the pan than with a spoon.
  2. Heat a smooth plate or pan on the stove.
