Edinburgh’s St. James’s Ward Becomes Famous Stack & Still Pancake Restaurant

The team behind one of Edinburgh’s most popular creperies have announced the opening of a second restaurant in the capital.

Stack & Still, which started in Glasgow to great acclaim, currently has a place in Edinburgh New Town, which opened in July 2021, one of seven locations across the country.

Today they announced they would be welcoming customers to a brand new Stack & Still arriving at the brilliant Bonnie & Wild food market in Edinburgh’s St James district.

The restaurant will open next week on Wednesday June 1st.

Unveiling the exciting news today, the team said: “What better way to brighten up a Monday afternoon than to announce the imminent launch of our seventh Stack & Still location.

“We will be opening inside @bonnieandwildmarket in St James Quarter on Wednesday June 1st!!!!!!”



Edinburgh’s premier food hall, Bonnie & Wild is located on the 4th floor of the St James Quarter.

They continued, “Over the weekend, the Bonnie & Wild and Stack & Still crews fitted out the new unit, which will employ nearly a dozen chefs and counter staff.”

Managing Director Paul Reynolds said: “At Stack & Still, we are all delighted to join the Bonnie & Wild community. The venue is fantastic, with superb chefs who I’m really happy to work with.

Stack & Still joins the likes of Tony Singh’s Radge Chaat – which opened earlier this month – National Chef of Scotland Gary Maclean’s Creel Caught and BBC Chef Jimmy Lee’s Salt & Chilli Oriental, alongside local heroes East PIZZAS and Joelato, and winner of the best burger in the UK, Le Perro Negro.

Mr Reynolds said: “The B&W ethos really suits us. We focus on fresh food, cooked to order, using local and sustainable ingredients wherever possible. We proudly use Scottish ingredients whenever possible and source make the most of the fantastic food and drink products available.Whether it’s breakfast, lunch, dinner or a snack in between, we offer an unbeatable selection of options.

“In addition to our classic buttermilk pancakes, we offer health-conscious customers buckwheat pancakes, protein-rich pancakes made with vanilla whey protein or low-fat pancakes, which pair perfectly with fresh fruit and other healthier toppings from our menu. dietary requirements, we also offer a gluten-free vegan pancake as well as a large selection of gluten-free toppings and sauces.

And like Bonnie & Wild’s other dining units, Stack & Still will continue to serve until 9 p.m., meaning customers can enjoy their “unrivaled mix of savory and sweet pancakes” throughout the day.
