Here is the winner for the best pizza at Bushwick 2021! : Bushwick Daily

About two weeks ago, we at Bushwick Daily asked you, our readers, to name your favorite local pizzerias. A total of 18 restaurants were nominated. It’s a lot! Is Bushwick the Pizza Capital of Brooklyn? Ah, that’s a debate for another day.

Either way, your appointments covered it all. There were places serving classic New York slices and joints offering seating fancy pizza experiences. Heck, even the square slices made the list!

And last week we asked you to vote. And you, Bushwick, did not disappoint. Together you have all voted over 2,700 times. For this participation, we thank you.

The finalists. . .

Coming to third place, winning the bronze medal, with 436 votes in total, it’s Sal’s at 119 Wyckoff Ave. This classic New York City pizzeria at the corner of Wyckoff and Dekalb avenues is a local favorite and a lunch break staple among those working the streets at Wyckoff Heights Medical Center. My advice is to start with the natural slice. It won’t disappoint you.

And coming second, with the silver medal, with 464 votes in total, is Norbert’s pizza at 4 Stuyvesant Ave., at the intersection of Stuyvesant Avenue and Broadway. Norbert’s offers tasty vegan and vegetarian options. And while it’s hard to miss, pizza isn’t the only thing on Norbert’s menu. The local spot also offers meals like vegan chicken parmesan pasta, pizza bagels, soy wings and more!

And . . . drum roll please. . .

The winner of the Best of Bushwick Best Pizza 2021 competition goes to none other than Tony Pizzeria and Restaurant at 443 Knickerbocker Ave. This family-run restaurant, which has been in existence since the early 1970s, garnered 1,022 votes in total, or more than â…“ of the total vote.

“We are extremely honored and grateful to Bushwick for not only nominating Tony’s Pizzeria and Restaurant for having the BEST PIZZA in Bushwick, but so far for winning by far the first place!” said Salvatore Polizzi, Tony’s manager and one of the brothers. “It’s an incredible feeling, especially knowing how dedicated all of our staff are to providing a quality product on a daily basis. We have worked tirelessly since the early 1970s to perfect our craft. Blood, sweat and tears flowed. And this recognition is incredibly heartwarming because it recognizes to a large extent all those years of hard work. “

“We pride ourselves on going above and beyond in everything we do, especially our hospitality,” Polizzi continued. “Being recognized as the BEST PIZZA place in Bushwick would not have been possible without the inspiration we continually receive from our community of supporters day in and day out. We wholeheartedly accept this recognition on behalf of Bushwick as a whole and take our proverbial hat off to all who have been nominated with us. Each nominee has challenged us in the past and truly inspires us every day to do better and be better. Thanks Bushwick. Lots of love and appreciation. Now come try some of the BEST Brooklyn !! ”
