National Pancake Day: IHOP cancels event, but still hands out free pancakes
The breakfast is delicious. However, the idea that breakfast is the most important meal of the day may be something many of us say rather than something we act on. For at least a day soon, however, it will be a little easier to take to heart.
IHOP’s National Pancake Day is here, more or less, and like most things, it’s a little different during the pandemic. IHOP announced Tuesday morning that the breakfast holiday is canceled for 2021. Yet the promotion is still going to take place. Instead of lining up at your local creperie for a free short stack, you can digitally line up for a free short stack in the future.
National Pancake Day IOU version requires you to subscribe to the channel MyHOP Rewards before March 31. If you do, you will receive a coupon for a free small stack of buttermilk pancakes which you can use anytime in April. When the time comes, you can enjoy pancakes in the restaurant or on a take-out order placed via IHOP.com or the pancake launcher mobile app.
As always, IHOP also takes the opportunity to raise funds for a charity. In April, when you get these free pancakes, the breakfast center encourages you to make a donation for as little as a dollar to Children’s Miracle Network hospitals or a local charity. It’s a small price to pay for a free breakfast.
