Quick bites | Fundraising for Ukraine – Santa Cruz Sentinel

Fundraiser for baked goods for Ukraine on Saturday

BobbyBaker invites the community to a Patio Party from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday at Sunset Beach (31 Sunset Drive) to raise funds for Ukraine. All proceeds will benefit Direct Relief (directrelief.org), an organization that applies 100% of all donations to humanitarian relief. There will be sweet and savory treats, including “his unique take on traditional Ukrainian dishes, including Ukrainian Pierogi and Ukrainian Beet Cake, as well as iced tea and lemonade.” All treats are free and donations are gratefully accepted. There will also be a raffle, with a prize of a dozen cinnamon rolls; this is one of BobbyBaker’s most popular items.

After 40 years as a schoolteacher, Bobby launched his artisan bakery business (facebook.com/profile.php?id=100073957025765) last year baking sweet potato pies for his Sunset Beach neighborhood. Every week he cooks on Friday and sells baked goods on Saturday. “I started my baking career in the classroom baking apple pies with my students every Pi day with exactly 3.14 apples.” Email [email protected] for directions and parking information.
