Three Square Food Bank’s annual event returns June 6-17 and will once again give Southern Nevada restaurants the opportunity to showcase their locations and menus while giving back to food-insecure Valley residents. . Two food concepts from Border grill family of restaurants have opened as part of concession deals at T-Mobile Arena. Mexican BBQ (burritos, bowls, salads) and Pasha Mamas (kebabs, ceviche) serve it at events at T-Mobile in the main lobby near section 19.
Al Solito Posto at Tivoli Village now serves weekday lunch, Monday through Friday, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., and weekend brunch, Saturday and Sunday, 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Steve Young and leader/partner James Trees created dishes like Lobster Benedict, braised beef cheeks with polenta and a ham, egg and East Coast Taylor cheese sandwich for the brunch menu; and meatball or aubergine cutlet sandwiches, spaghetti and meatballs, langoustines with prawns and poached tuna niçoise salad for lunch.
A steak house at Virgin Hotels Las Vegas will serve an All-Star Burger and Beer Combo special next sports weekend when the NHL All-Star Game and NFL Pro Bowl come to town. The One Steak Burger is a mixed brisket patty topped with hand-cut applewood smoked bacon and creamy Butterkase cheese served with fries and ketchup, and it comes with Excited State Pilsner from the local brewer Able baker. The combo costs $35 and is available until February 6.
Jose Andres is bringing its annual truffle festival back to Las Vegas this week at Jaleo at the Cosmopolitan (February 8-20) and later at ChinaPoblano also at the Cosmopolitan (February 12-20). Black truffles flown in from Sarrión, Spain, will be used in specialty dishes such as tacos de setas, quail egg siu mai, pan de cristal, chicken croquettes and more. Three grams ($18) or five grams ($28) of truffles can be added to any dish.
This month’s Taste & Learn event at Ferraro Italian Restaurant and Wine Bar, scheduled for February 16 at 5 p.m., will showcase wines from Prunotto to Alba with a full menu of wine and food pairings. Tickets are $90 and seating is limited. for reservations, call 702-364-5300.
