Rosemont Restaurant Week
He is back! It’s time to get out and explore Rosemont’s restaurants during the annual Village Restaurant Week, Sunday through Saturday, March 6-12. From casual to upscale, participating restaurants will offer a variety of three-course prix-fixe menus for lunch and dinner. Taste dishes from Adobe Gila’s, Bub City, Crust Brewing, Murray Bros. Caddyshack, Carlucci Rosemont, Carmine’s, Five Roses Pub, Harry Caray’s Italian Steakhouse, Liberty Tavern, Moretti’s Rosemont, Park Tavern, Thorn Restaurant at The Rose Hotel and Truluck’s. Eat local week
Be sure to bring your appetite to Meet Chicago Northwest’s ninth annual Eat Local Week from Friday, March 4 through Sunday, March 13. The 60 participating restaurants in eight cities – Arlington Heights, Elk Grove Village, Itasca, Rolling Meadows, Roselle, Schaumburg, Streamwood and Wood Dale – will offer deals, multi-course menus and gift card bonuses. Cuisines run the gamut from steak to pizza to Indian, Mexican, Greek, Filipino, Vietnamese, Japanese, American and more. With the onset of Lent, many suburban restaurants offer seafood specialties on Fridays.

Shaw’s Crab House

Every Friday during Lent, Shaw’s will serve two three-course prix-fixe menus for $27 per person for dine-in or take-out. The fisherman’s platter includes fried Atlantic cod, fried shrimp, calamari, fries and coleslaw, while the fish and chips includes fried Atlantic cod, fries and cabbage salad. Both come with a cup of clam chowder and a slice of mini key lime pie. For take-out only, the Shaw’s Family Fish Fry (clam chowder, beer-battered Atlantic cod, fries, coleslaw, and homemade chocolate cake) is $65 and the classic crab cake dinner for four ( rolls, Caesar salad, four Maryland-style crabcakes, coleslaw, au gratin potatoes, spinach cream and homemade chocolate cake) is $95.

Tequila dinners
Break up your week-start routine with a tequila dinner at one of Fat Rosie’s four suburban restaurants. Dine on a four-course Mexican dinner while sipping tequila-infused drinks for $80 per person. 7 p.m. dinners are Monday, March 7 in Naperville; Tuesday, March 8, in Lincolnshire; Wednesday March 9, in Schaumburg; and on Thursday March 10 in Frankfurt. One must reserve. Oh, and you could even put on a sombrero while eating.
