Pancake Day is one of the most delicious times of the year. Whether you like yours with chocolate sauce or lemon and sugar, sweet or savory, there are so many ways to enjoy them. Jamie Walker took to the internet to find Brighton’s ten best pancake spots before Tuesday.

Let us know which ones we missed and the places you would recommend.

Nowhere man

Upper North Street, Brighton

When you google “best pancakes in Brighton”, that’s the first comment that pops up – and it must count for something.

This quaint cafe prides itself on its pancakes and bagels, as well as its relaxed atmosphere.

Alice H called them the “best pancakes in Brighton” on TripAdvisor, but if you want to make up your own mind then go down for a pile.

Starfish and coffee

Place Egrémont, Brighton

This cafe won the ‘Best Brunch’ award last year and with pancakes like these as part of its menu, it’s easy to see why.

Whether you want to have just one alongside breakfast or fancy a whole bunch, this is a great place to celebrate Pancake Day.

Three batteries

Clarendon Center, New England Street, Brighton

The owners of Three Stack, Ben and Ruby, describe pancakes as the “third wheel” of their marriage.

These two live for food and take their sweet and savory treats all over town.

This pancake day you can see them at The Square hotel where they have a special unlimited pancake deal.

Conditions can be found on their website, but this event is worth seeing.

Smokey

King’s Road, Brighton

If you’ve never been to Smokeys before, I would definitely recommend it – and not just for the pancakes.

But speaking of the fluffy clouds of goodness, Smokeys has huge American style pancakes loaded with toppings and sauces. They will fill you up for the rest of the day.

Argus:

Business crepe

East Street, Brighton

There is no doubt that pancakes are pancakes, but there is some debate as to whether it is okay to consume them on the same pancake day.

If you’re that inclined, pop over to Crêpeaffaire for a wide selection of its thin and crispy pancakes that are bursting with flavor and melt in your mouth.

The new club

King’s Road, Brighton

The New Club brought an authentic American seaside dining experience, and their pancakes reflect that.

Thick, chewy, and loaded with toppings, they’re enough to fill even the biggest pancake-day appetite.

Trading Post Coffee Roasters

Ships Street, Brighton

They may be best known for coffee, but Trading Post put a touch of whimsy on pancakes as well.

With some innovative topping combinations, they are the perfect choice for all adventurous eaters.

The longhouse cafe

York Place, Brighton

Another cafe in town that makes great breakfasts, The Longhouse is extremely popular and will likely be very busy on Tuesday.

The menu is 100% plant-based and perfect for all vegans on pancake day.

Argus:

Cafe Trafe

Trafalgar Street, Brighton

This is another place that makes crepe style pancakes that are bursting with flavor and have a good variety of toppings.

From traditional to the most different, there is something for everyone on this menu.

Coho coffee

Ships Street, Brighton

Another award winning cafe in Brighton which is quaint and a great place to sit down with a coffee or snack.

It has a wide range of cakes and pastries – which extends to pancakes – that will satisfy your appetite.
