Tuesday’s To Go: Nick’s Bagels and Espresso – Serving the Fullerton community since 1922
Nick’s Bagels and Espresso is a popular breakfast and brunch spot located in Fullerton. It has a very local feel and serves delicious sandwiches for breakfast or lunch made from freshly made bagels.
Nick’s is a nice place to grab a breakfast sandwich in the morning or custom bagel creations like salmon delight and coffee. Customers can also stop by later in the day for a turkey and cheddar sandwich and a bag of chips for lunch.
Breakfast sandwiches are the most popular on the menu, but regular customers at Fullerton’s Nick’s, Denise, and Ryan Lucerne say they come here at least once a week for Salmon Delight. Served on your choice of bagel with cream cheese, fresh smoked salmon, red onion, and capers, Nick’s Creation is a local favorite.
“They always toast the bagels the right way,” said Denise Lucerne.
The bacon, egg and cheese on a bagel were all delicious. The egg was well cooked, the bacon was crisp and the cheese was melted to perfection. The iced coffee was tasty and with just the right amount of cream and sweetener.
The turkey sanwich included turkey, red onion, fresh green lettuce, sprouts and mustard on a bagel of everything. The bagel was still fresh and the sandwich was overall very tasty. Add a side of crisps and the result is there.
Nick Choe has owned the business for three years and six months and credits word-of-mouth advertising and take-out orders from his regular customers for helping the business weather the pandemic. Nick’s favorite menu item is the Salmon Delight and Avocado Cream Cheese Bagel.
Although the restaurant does not currently offer indoor dining due to COVID-19 restrictions, it does have a few nice outdoor tables where patrons can relax and enjoy their meals.
Nick’s Bagels and Espresso is located at 309 N. Euclid St. in Fullerton, inside the Stater Bros. Mall. The store is open from 7 am to 1 pm Monday through Saturday and 7 am to noon on Sunday.
All of Nick’s bagels and sandwiches are delicious and all locals are highly recommended to stop by for a bite to eat and coffee.
