What kind of pizza do you like?
If you want to involve people in something, just ask their opinion about the food. Where’s the best pizza, bagels, wings, seafood, steaks, burgers, ice cream, donuts… you name it and people will have an opinion. Of course, when you use social media, they won’t just tell you what they like, but will be very clear about what they don’t like.
I really never made food choices as a subject for several reasons:
- I like many places.
- Many of them belong to friends I would never want to offend.
- I agree that even the best restaurants have bad days, especially when it comes to service.
- What I like and where can be very different from your choices. My opinion is not more important than yours…it’s just mine.
No one will confuse my palate with that of a New York Times food critic. I’d probably be as happy to have a good burger and fries as I would be to a gourmet meal at an upscale French restaurant. I’m not sure exactly what I used as an example, but I hope you get my point.
Food and favorites are personal and there is no right or wrong. Take for example pizza which is a big favorite on Super Bowl Sunday. Do you like the deep dish, the thin dough, the stuffed dough… how about the Neapolitan, the Sicilian, the grandma, the white pizza or the tomato pie? There are enough choices to take care of your Friday nights for months.
As for me…well, I pretty much like them all. I guess my favorite is more on the thin crust side and I’m ok with toppings like sausage, onions, pepperoni and even anchovies. Just keep healthy options away.
